Block the Bombs to Israel – Sign Today

In Gaza, Israel, Israel and Palestine

Suffering in Gaza has only intensified under the disastrous Netanyahu-Trump ethnic cleansing plan disguised as aid delivery under the misnamed “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” opposed by every reputable humanitarian aid organization. The assault on the human rights and dignity of the Palestinian people seems to have no end.

We must raise our voices once again to demand justice. U.S. Rep Delia Ramirez (D-IL), not surprisingly, a Peace Action/Peace Voter endorsee, has introduced a bill, H.R. 3565, to Block the Bombs to Israel, along with thirty-two co-sponsors. While not a total arms embargo on Israel (it does not prohibit anti-missile systems, for example), the bill would prohibit transfers of U.S. weapons systems Israel has used in its genocide against the people of Gaza. It is, however, the first time in history that Congress has worked to proactively halt offensive weapons to Israel.

Take a moment right now to sign on and urge your members of Congress to support the Block the Bombs Act to help end U.S. complicity in the genocide in Gaza.

If enacted into law, this bill would block the following weapons to Israel: BLU-109 bunker-busting bombs, MK80 series bombs, GBU-39 small diameter bomb variants, Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs), SPICE gliding bomb assemblies, 120mm tank ammunition, and 155mm artillery ammunition, including white phosphorus munitions.

This bill is long overdue, and comes at a dire moment for the 2.1 million people of Gaza, who have been victims of ongoing war crimes for the past twenty months — bombarded by American-made bombs, forcibly starved, and killed while simply trying to attain food. Over 57,000 Palestinians have been brutally killed, including over 18,000 children, with thousands still missing under the rubble.

Since October of 2023, the Biden and Trump administrations have delivered more than $30 billion of U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons to Israel to enable it to perpetrate alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, making the U.S. complicit in Israel’s actions. Now, Israel vows to occupy and ethnically cleanse the rest of Gaza. Enough is enough. We must cut off the bombs Israel relies on to perpetuate this war.

These weapons deliveries are a violation of U.S. law, which prevents any form of assistance from going to a country that blocks the delivery of humanitarian aid and engages in a consistent pattern of gross human rights violations, as we and our congressional allies have repeatedly asserted.

Peace Action has joined in this Block the Bombs action with dozens of colleague organizations to help amplify our voices and build power to pressure Israel and the Trump Administration to stop the carnage. Please sign the petition to Block the Bombs and promote this action on social media and to friends, family, and colleagues.

Our allies in Congress need all the help they can get these days, in order to halt the proliferation of authoritarianism and violence here at home and abroad. Please join us today in supporting H.R. 3565 to Block the Bombs and send a strong message that you want peace, not endless war.
