This amendment by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sought to provide for “reduced authority” under the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. In effect, it tried to authorize military force for use against Iran instead of Iraq with the insertion of “Against Iranian back Militia operating in Iraq” in place of the “Against Iraq Resolution of 2002.” Failed 36-60.
