Blocking common sense arms control

On the Amendment S.Amdt. 139 to S.Con.Res. 8 Sen. Inhofe (R-OK) offered this amendment to prevent the US from entering into the Arms Trade Treaty. The treaty, which would help stop the spread of weapons to human rights abusers, had not yet been negotiated at the time of the vote. The US signed the treaty in September and it awaits ratification. Passed, 53-46.
