This bill would set up an "Office to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia" within the State Department. It would fight against Islamophobia and Islamophobic incitement in foreign countries. This bill also requires certain existing annual reports to Congress about human rights and religious freedom in foreign countries (to include information about: Islamophobia i.e., acts of physical violence or harassment, instances of propaganda in government and nongovernment media that aim to justify or promote hatred or violence incite violence against Muslim people; and actions taken by a country’s government in response to such acts).
