And not one of those soldiers went to Iraq against there will. The U.S. military is an all volunteer military. That is honor, something you protesters will never understand. They are there to serve there country, to protect the freedoms of all Americans, even the one’s that don’t deserve it such as yourselves. These soldiers died so you have the right to voice your opinion. What do you think would happen to you if you protested in Iraq or any country that is not a “free” country, you most likely would be jailed or worse killed. Isn’t it nice that you have the right to voice your opinion, the very thing the soldiers are trying to give these other country’s.
Although Phil is a little harsh, he is basically correct. There are indeed things worth fighting for. And I see the frequent use of “liberal” and “progressive” in your group’s statements, so your a bit suspect. Could be this is the usual Republican/Conservative bash going on here. The “brothers and sisters” line sounds very socialist. Look, no one likes war, no matter your uncalled for rhetoric. But the fact is, the Gulf War was not in fact over. There was a cease fire agreement. Saddam had certain conditions to follow, and he didn’t do it. Plus, he kept his forces firing on our patrols in the “no fly” zones. This is not peaceful co-existance. And he was not forthcoming about his destruction of WMD. So he got what he deserved, and we get to help rebuild, as we always do. If the UN would back up it’s words with action, we wouldn’t have had to go do this with few allies. And as a parting comment, I hear all this crying over how many iraqis we have killed. Where was your compassion when it was Saddam doing it?

UNFORTUNATELY THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IN GENERAL IS STUPID AND THE MEDIA TAKES FULL ADVANTAGE. WAKE UP AND REALIZE IF WE PULL OUT OF IRAQ TOO SOON, WE BASICALLY HAND THEM OVER TO IRAN AND PROVIDE ALL OF THE TERRIROTY WE HAVE GAINED RIGHT BACK TO THE TERRORISTS TO EXPAND AND PLAN MORE ATTACKS ON OUR SOIL. KEEP TALKIN DIRT ABOUT BUSH BUT WE HAVEN’T HAD ANOTHER ATTACK ON OUR SOIL AND NEVER HAS A PRESIDENT HAD TO DEAL WITH SUCH AN ATTACK- YOU CANNOT EVEN COMPARE PEARL HARBOR- IT WAS A MILITARY TARGET- NOT A CIVILIAN TARGET. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS- YOU BRING THEM DOWN BY PROTESTING- IF WE BRING THEM ALL BACK TOO SOON, ALL OF US AND OUR CHILDREN WILL PAY THE PRICE.

WOW — Lots and lots of comments. I feel I have already (many times) addressed my reasons for posting the death toll to this blog. We recently hit 4,000 US deaths – a tragic milestone to be sure. I will continue to protest until every last woman and man is home. I do not believe that everyone there is there voluntarily…many have been stop lossed. I suggested you check out: http://ivaw.org/ for more information on what is happening on the ground in Iraq and how soldiers are feeling. They just broadcast their Winter Soldier Hearings (so of which I will post here).
As for the site. I apologize that you found it unprofessional and uninspiring. I would love (if you are indeed a web person) for you to volunteer your services as a web master. I am all alone here and I have been doing a lot of media work – not updating our site. Please reserve your judgment for those proliferating and profiting from war and stop picking on me. Thanks.
