Call now: cut military spending
It’s hypocrisy at its worst. House Republicans are pushing a budget resolution for 2011 to slash $100 billion for domestic spending while letting the bloated Pentagon budget grow.
Thankfully, some representatives are calling Republican leaders out by proposing amendments to cut military spending, including money for the war in Afghanistan. The vote is planned for Thursday, February 17th.
Call 1-800-427-8619 TODAY and tell your representative to vote for amendments to cut the military budget. Then, click here to tell me how your call went.
Use this sample message as a guide, and add your own words:
“Hi, my name is __________ and I live at ___________. I am calling to tell Rep. __________ to vote for amendments like the ones offered by Representatives Stark, Polis and Nadler to cut wasteful military spending. It’s irresponsible to make billions of cuts in domestic programs that are important to me while letting the bloated military budget grow.”
These votes are scheduled for tomorrow, so we only have a little bit of time to flood congressional offices with calls. Please call 1-800-427-8619 and tell your representative to vote for amendments to cut the bloated Pentagon budget. Then, click here to report back on your call.
